This piece is meant to lull the listener into a false sense of serenity and security. It begins with calming sounds of water and then continues to incorporate familiar sounds giving the listener the impression that the main character is getting into their car and traveling. The main character then listens to a radio message where they hear about a crime that took place. This spurs them to immediately call someone who is visibly upset and angry at the news which transitions to a blender sound representing the chaos that happens because of this. The shoveling sounds signify the main character burying something or someone, in relation to the crime that took place. The sounds then continue to get increasingly disorienting, mirroring what might take place in someone’s mind after they committed a crime. Ambient noise of people talking, random beeps, and echos of children laughing continue throughout, mocking the main character and culminating in a cacophony with a loud beep ending it. After this, the piece mirrors the happenings of the beginning and calms down more, ending with a simple river sound.
