ABOUT
My name is Maya Hladišová and I am a senior in the program of Environmental Design majoring in Architecture at CU Boulder. I love singing, cooking, and spending time in the Colorado outdoors. I believe that without art, life would be dry, drab and lack vivacity. With a mix of imagination and intuition I try to allow the creative process to guide me as opposed to the other way around.
Inspired by a yearning to make life richer and more compelling, my art focuses on how people experience the world in different lenses. In an architectural sense I focus on creating spaces crafted specifically for serenity, enjoyment, and fulfillment with a playful, youthful touch.
My formal education in the fine arts is limited, but from a young age I have always been gluing, painting, cutting, and getting messy with different art materials. My favorite store has always been the art supplies store and looking at all the unique materials invigorates me and gets me itching to start creating. I feel inspired looking at various textures and types of materials and thinking of how I can combine different mediums together.
I have taken many architectural studio classes as well as a pottery and drawing class. My interest in digital art began when creating photoshop renderings for my design projects. I usually begin by deciding what kind of emotion I want the viewer to feel while looking at my images. Whether it is a feeling of nostalgia, yearning, playfulness, or familiarity, I aim to portray scenes filled with passion of some kind.
